CROCODILE ZOO
RHÔNE VALLEY, FRANCE

Unique in Europe, La Ferme aux Crocodiles is a zoo and nature preserve. With a tropical greenhouse of over 86,000 square feet, visitors can observe and photograph more than 400 crocodiles belonging to the rarest species, a magnificent group of giant tortoises from the Seychelle islands, and wild birds in lush tropical surroundings. It was founded in 1994 by two horticulturist brothers with a passion for reptiles and is located in Pierrelatte, France, in the Rhône-Alpes Region. A new outside area of over 43,000 square feet opened in 2010, where crocodiles and tortoises are now able to swim and walk in the sun during the summer.

Attracting 330,000 visitors annually, the venue is now one of France's largest zoos. The preserve is also recognized and respected for its dedication to biodiversity and to the preservation of endangered species.
